There is a fascinating history to the Cambodia casinos that lie just across the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, in which gambling hall gaming is not permitted. Eight gambling halls are based in a generally small space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. The Naga, a docked boat gambling hall, features 150 slot machine games and sixty gaming tables. The Naga gambling den never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat banque, four tables of vingt-et-un, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The 1st gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown soon opened. There are 150 slot machine games and five table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four one armed bandits and 68 table games at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains 300 slot machines and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and 96 table games, including 87 baccarat banque (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five one armed bandits and sixty six of the familiar tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight casinos in Poipet, again in a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 one armed bandits and ninety seven table games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a multinational resort and hotel complex that highlights many conveniences in addition to the casino, which has 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 one armed bandits and 88 table games.
